Videos from the wilderness
The wilderness is a great and endless source of inspiration. Every video here draws from that inspiration with the intention of sharing all the positive things that come from being in nature.
The Soul and the Mountain
The soul needs connection with the earth. Living in modern society is like putting the soul in a container that cuts it off from the environment it craves. This soul craves the mountain, so we must follow it there. The mountain provides ancient wisdom that we can bring back to society with us.
Learning to Splitboard in the Northern Rockies
Splitboarding is a fast-growing sport for snowboarders who want to venture out of the resorts and into the backcountry. A splitboard is a snowboard that splits in half and allows the snowboarder to cross-country ski into the mountains. You then put the board back together and ride down. Snowboarding in the backcountry is an entirely different sport than snowboarding at a resort. A rider gets only a fraction of the runs because they have to earn every foot of ascent. On top of that, avalanches are a life-threatening factor. They must be held with great respect, especially when choosing run. One wrong move could mean death. If one is willing to take on these extra challenges they could be rewarded with the best deep-powder snowboarding that nature has to offer; you won't find these conditions at a ski resort.
Alex Maier has been snowboarding his whole life, but that was in the midwest. When he moves to Montana he has to start from scratch, this series shows what it takes to get into the backcountry safely and effectively.

Life on a Knife's Edge
Some people are just drawn to high places. When they see a mountain peak they want to be up there. Alex Maier is a victim of such desires so, he began making up his own routes that would take him across the highest points of an entire mountain range. There's something about walking the ridgeline of a mountain that is unlike any other kind of hiking, it's where the biggest spaces and best views are. Because they are usually so hard to get to, that's where you can find the most solitude, too. These routes are completely untested and Alex has no idea if they are physically possible or if he possesses the climbing skills necessary to deal with such treacherous terrain, but there's only one way to find out though.
Building a Life of Meaning
Abby set out to build a life that was meaningful for her where she could wake up every day and be proud of what she was doing. Within a year, she started her own dog sledding tour business in Jackson, Wyoming, called Call of the WYld. In that same year Abby and her boyfriend, Michael started building a cabin from scratch in the mountains. Things don't go to plan, but now they are stronger because of it.
Learning to Weather the Storm
Redline Mountain Guides takes a trip to the Cloud Peak Wilderness in Wyoming. Ages ranged from 16 to 43 and everyone came out for their own reasons, but when the storms hit, they quickly became one trail family. The trip lasted for four days, but it will have lasting and positive effects on everyone's life.
Upper Peninsula Backcountry
We have talked about finding backcountry spots to ride in the UP for years, but this was the first year we actually did anything about it. We discovered that it's very hard to ride the terrain around here, but when we do find a decent spot the riding is really fun.
What Really Matters
What really matters in life? These questions come up more often and are easier to answer when we remove all of the extraneous things and go into nature.
